a detailed program will be issued by Wednesday 21 September to those who have confirmed their attendance and paid for their accommodation to the ABA account * What is it?

i) High Performance – The Australian Biathlon High Performance Spring Overseas Camp is for all biathletes nationally who are aspiring to race biathlon overseas in 2016/17. This includes athletes aspiring to race World Cup, IBU Cup, IBU Junior Cup, National / Regional or Alpen Cup, Universiade Championships or at Masters World events.

The September camp is part of Australian Biathlon high performance athlete development program. It aims to bring together all aspiring international athletes to undertake a weekend of training in a team focused environment. It will provide opportunities for athletes to plan and prepare for international competitions and to interact with Australian Biathlon officials and coaches towards understanding new rules and information from the recent IBU World Congress.

ii) Future Stars – is Australian Biathlon Athlete Development and identification program. Australian Biathlon has the vision to provide opportunities for athlete participation and development within Australian Biathlon. Through Future Star programs Australian Biathlon aims to:
• Introduce developing athletes to elite sporting opportunities and elite sports people
• Increase knowledge of the athlete pathway, selection criteria and the various opportunities, resources and programs available to Australian snow sports athletes
• Establish a consistent and unified approach to athlete development
• Engage National Team athletes and programs in pathway development initiatives
• Provide athletes with superior technical coaching and performance opportunities
• Encourage involvement in AB domestic and international events

Accommodation at Currawong Ski Lodge Dinner Plain:
Accommodation will be provided at no cost to high performance athletes who are intending to race internationally for Australia in an IBU recognised events at Currawong Lodge for Friday and Saturday night. Adults and other family members are able to book at a cost of $25 per person.

Food – self-catering for the weekend including snacks

Equipment:
• Cross Country skating skis, poles, boots (best old rock skis)
• Own ammunition
• Own Rifle (if you have one)
• Training diary
• Cross Country skiing, running and gym clothes suitable for all weather
• Water bottle that you can carry while training
• Race plans and itinerary for overseas

Note: rollerskis are NOT required

Cost: accommodation (if applicable, see above), there is no charge for coaching

- Q&A Session/ Pathway and High Performance update from IBU Congress

Who is it for?
Athletes who:
- Are intending to race biathlon internationally in 2016/17
- Are interested in Biathlon
- Have participated in Interschools
- Have participated in an Australian Biathlon championship event of any kind
