UPDATE 1 AUGUST – all participants and parents are required to assist with Saturday’s and Sunday’s race duties, to ensure the smooth and safe running of events.
Race set up at 7:00 am each day. Saturday set up by Victorian members, Sunday set up by Interstate members. Saturday tidy up by Interstate members, Sunday tidy up Victorian members.
All participants and officials are required to attend the Safety Briefing at 9:40 am each day.
First race is 9:50 am to avoid a clash with the Pub to Pub Hotham to Dinner Plain event. Second race will commence after the Pub to Pub participants have passed through the biathlon race area


UPDATE 30 JULY – Today’s Individual event is highly likely to be swapped with tomorrow’s Sprint event, to avoid a clash with the Hotham to Dinner Plain Pub to Pub Race participants. See news article 30 July for more info

The Australian Biathlon Championships are the second of two Selection Weekends for Australian Biathlon.

Today’s event is HIGHLY LIKELY SPRINT an Individual (Distance) event.

Cost for participants $35/$25, late fee applies after Sun 13 July, bookings close Fri 18 Jul.

Daily Program – to be confirmed closer to the time:

Bib collection – 8:00-8:30 am
Competitor briefing – 8:40 am Whiskey Flat Shelter
Zeroing – 8:50 am to 9:40 am
Race start – 9:50 am*
Medal presentation – 12:30 pm Whiskey Flat Shelter

Depending on numbers, we expect two race starts today and tomorrow, in which case the following groups and start times will apply: 9:50 am – age classes where athletes are permitted to carry rifles
10:50 am – other classes, including Sports and laser classes

We need volunteers to run these events. All participants should attend PERSONALLY for bib collection and competitor briefing. We rely on the parents of Youth athletes to volunteer for both the 9:50 am and 10:50 am races.**
