Members aged 18 and over have been invited to apply for the first-ever IBU International Referee Course to be run in Australia.

This is a professional qualification, for which a licence may be obtained, which has as a prerequisite experience in running Australian Biathlon Championship events, ie the Victorian and Australian Championships in July/August each year.

Interested members should familiarise themselves with the requirements for sitting the test, they include the ability to ski the course. Details are on the IBU website biathlonworld.com in the IBU Rules 2018, Chapter 4 Annex C.

Subject to IBU approval, the IBU may allow members not eligible to sit the test, to participate in the training sessions. Should this be allowed, members will be advised as soon as possible.

Members should note that detailed knowledge of the IBU Competition Rules is required.
